Are you an experienced project manager with a background in architecture, engineering, or construction?
Would you like to use your skills to develop and preserve affordable rental homes in partnership with community-based organizations?
Housing Development Center (HDC) is a nonprofit consulting group founded in 1993. We provide capacity and expertise in real estate development and asset management to nonprofit organizations and housing authorities in Oregon and southwest Washington. We specialize in developing, preserving, and sustaining regulated affordable multifamily rental housing and community facilities. Our developments serve people such as working families, seniors, people with disabilities, and culturally specific communities.
As a construction project manager at HDC, you will work with mission-driven clients, lenders, investors, architects, building officials, and contractors to develop new projects and to rehabilitate existing properties. You will be part of a team of project management consultants at HDC, working on two or more projects in different phases of development at any time. You will usually pair with an HDC finance project manager to provide coordinated services to each project you work on.
Ideal qualifications
Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs for which they might reasonably be considered and hired, compared to others with similar qualifications. HDC encourages you to apply if you aren’t sure whether you meet every qualification listed or if you require a reasonable accommodation to perform job duties
Candidates will be considered for a mid-level or senior-level position based on their qualifications and experience.
- The ideal candidate for the mid-level construction project manager position has at least 5 years of experience in architecture or construction with a strong project management background and experience in contract administration for multifamily residential construction.
- The ideal candidate for the senior-level position is an architect or engineer licensed in Oregon or Washington, an experienced owner’s representative, or a general contractor with a strong project management background and extensive experience in contract administration, design scoping, and budgeting for multifamily residential construction.
