Molly Washington was formerly a construction and transactions attorney who worked in private practice, representing owners, developers, contractors, and subcontractors. Molly previously served as in-house counsel for the City of Portland, focusing on construction, procurement, and equity. Molly performs all of her work using equity analysis.
Equity analysis helps to identify racial, gender, and other disparities that interfere or harm businesses, as well as ways to mitigate or eliminate those disparities. This practice helps those in public agencies, real estate development, and the construction industry to improve equity practices and their overall success in ensuring that Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color owned firms have access and opportunity in the construction market. This practice critically analyzes governmental equity initiatives, develops programs to support recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce, and builds genuine connections and community.
