Fortis Construction is the General Contractor for the Oregon Zoo Entry and Polar Plazas project which is part of the Oregon Zoo Bond Projects. The project is owned by Metro and located at 4001 SW Canyon Rd, Portland, OR 97221.
Project Description: This project will replace the existing gathering areas at the Zoo entryway and Polar Plaza with new permanent, mass timber structures. The Entryway plaza will be a new 3,233 sf deck with a mass timber canopy, tied into the existing Cascade Crest building. The Polar Plaza will be a new 14,620 sf structure, consisting of a new slab on grade and mass timber canopy. Both sites will involve new landscaping and paving.
